Hermit Crab

I did thought of "sort of" cheating in today's theme of letter H of the A-Z challange and writing about my blog:Her world. I know, i have you smiling? However, i decided to write about the Hermit crab because to most of us, crabs are just crabs, period. They are creatures that are found by or on the beach and thats that!

Interestingly enough, crabs have different species and different names just as any other creature on the planet. In fact crabs have approximately 1100 species under crabs! With this figure, i am 100% amazed.

  1. In the Caribbean they are called Soldier Crabs because of the way they "march" to the sea when it's time to spawn and swap shells.

  3. Yah, I'm with Nancie... I was thinking how great they would be in a salad (or, maybe, they could bring their own plates to my table!?!?) They really are fascinating and I love the pictures. Thanks for sharing.
