Thomsons falls not Thompsons fall .....

We are always being told how we should embrace local tourism in Kenya but i never quite took it very seriously until i had an embarrassing moment  that meant i needed to learn. Considering my line of duty-tours, people expect you know much about destinations and sometimes you just don't know enough...or in my case you are clueless!

"Someone asked me if i had had of the Thomson falls(Kenya) and i said yes i have had of the Thompson falls(Montana)" I was so embarrassed that i felt it was necessary to share the information with you.

The lodge above is known as Thomson’s Falls Lodge. It is situated at the world famous Thomson’s Falls discovered in 1883 by Joseph Thomson, a Scottish geologist and naturalist. The Ewaso Narok River drops a sheer 243 feet over a ledge of volcanic rock, to create these magnificent falls, located in the southern west corner of Laikipia, at the northern foot of the Aberdare range. What's amazing about this place is that for full board accomodation per person it costs KES 3,200(approximately US$ 38) Can you believe it?!!! I plan on visiting the Lodge and the fall in Kenya's Nyahururu town.

Now my question is, which prince will come and propose in this sweet place like Prince William did atRutundu Log Cabins ?

  1. This looks like a nice place to visit. I'm sure there lots of animals around as well. The price is very low. Thanks for sharing this!
