Thomsons falls not Thompsons fall .....

We are always being told how we should embrace local tourism in Kenya but i never quite took it very seriously until i had an embarrassing moment  that meant i needed to learn. Considering my line of duty-tours, people expect you know much about destinations and sometimes you just don't know enough...or in my case you are clueless!

"Someone asked me if i had had of the Thomson falls(Kenya) and i said yes i have had of the Thompson falls(Montana)" I was so embarrassed that i felt it was necessary to share the information with you.

The lodge above is known as Thomson’s Falls Lodge. It is situated at the world famous Thomson’s Falls discovered in 1883 by Joseph Thomson, a Scottish geologist and naturalist. The Ewaso Narok River drops a sheer 243 feet over a ledge of volcanic rock, to create these magnificent falls, located in the southern west corner of Laikipia, at the northern foot of the Aberdare range. What's amazing about this place is that for full board accomodation per person it costs KES 3,200(approximately US$ 38) Can you believe it?!!! I plan on visiting the Lodge and the fall in Kenya's Nyahururu town.

Now my question is, which prince will come and propose in this sweet place like Prince William did atRutundu Log Cabins ?

Nature: Beauty Unspoken!

For the past couple of days i have been battling out with time, trying to find time to blog but it has been difficult. I know i also haven't written much about a good economic travel place, but i have just the perfect place in mind, i am just trying to get the best pictures of the place, meanwhile brace yourself to these unique flowers that i think are magnificent. Beauty unspoken i would say!

Butterfly Sanctuary......Another reason why Kenya is amazing!

Sometime back we had a butterfly sanctuary in Nairobi area but somehow it got shut down. This really made me sad having that i had never visited the place. However my spirits were raised when a friend told me that Hemingway's Beach Resort at the Kenyan Coast has one! Hemingways is termed as one of the best beach resorts in Kenya and has won countless international awards for great service and a superb product. Judge for yourself hemingways.co.ke With an inspiration of my upcoming holiday at the coast (still do not know when) i uploaded this beautiful pictures hoping that you will love them as much (or more) as i do!

Kakamega Forest; A nature lovers must see!

Kenya is blessed with many forests but one that absolutely stands out for me is the Kakamega equitorial rainforest. It is termed as a living museum with unique and rare species. This forest has an overwhelming birdlife which i would say is the "high" point of the forest with all species of monkeys being present and beautiful Chameleons are often seen in the undergrowth.

At night the air is usually filled with bats and other nights birds and giant forest squirrels. Kakamega forest is a place i would recommend to nature lover's because it depicts the beauty of the garden of Eden, basically outstanding!

Kakamega is best experienced when you go for nature treks that way you can enjoy the nature!

Today: A wild Smile....

Since January, Kenya has been extremely dry with parts of the country experiencing great drought that has led to some deaths occurring. However, since this past weekend , we have experienced heavy rain which even though the meteorological department say will last for a short while, to me it's a miracle and something to be happy about.Another thing to smile about today is this picture. There is just something about it, that makes me smile. I hope it has the same effect on you!

Birds are beautiful creatures... PART 1

It has been a while since i blogged, i know i should not make up excuses but the truth is have been quite busy with other things going on in life. However, i felt that if i shared these beautiful pictures with you they would probably enlighten your day as much us they enlighten my days.

I love birds and i attribute my love to them from the fact that they live freely not having a care in the world, for example where will their next meal come from etc. I salute the photographers for highlighting this awesome creature!

The Tiger

This animal fascinates me beyond the norm. It is strong, beautiful, clever and wise. A fact that you did not know is that no two tigers have identical stripes! The Tiger is an endangered species, which is a terrifying fact and truth. I believe that all wild animals are endangered especially with the looming threat of poachers.Following a blog post i did last year Poachers are still a threat to our animals. These people will stop at nothing thus the dire need for us to fight for this animal and other animals....can you imagine the wild without a Tiger? What do you think we should do to curb poaching?

In water still looks amazing....

In the Jungle,it brings out that strong appeal...

Now this pic makes me see the distinct beauty of the Tiger!

And in black and white...the beauty is more!
